The historical American Flag known as the Gadsden Flag is yellow featuring a coiled rattlesnake and the words Don't Tread on Me underneath.  The Rattlesnake is a timber rattlesnake that can be found in the area of the original 13 colonies.  The Gadsden flag dates back to 1775 when the continental Navy was established by George Washington.  The flag was was given to the commander-in-chief of the navy, commodore Esek Hopkins where he received the flag from Gadsden to serve as the distinctive personal standard of the flagship.There are a few states that offer the Gadsden Flag specialty license plates.  These states include, Alabama, Arizona, Missouri, Montana, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
