The University of Arizona was first established university in Arizona, founded in 1885.  The city of Tucson would be the host to the university.  The University of Arizona wouldnt have been built if it wasnt for 2 gamblers and a saloon keeper who donated the land.  The first building constructed was named Old Main which still stands today.  Classes began for the first time in 1891 with 32 students.
